London CF Makes Waves in Westminster

London Conservative Future’s third campaign day saw over 15,000 pieces of literature delivered in Westminster North for PPC Joanne Cash.

“It was a great campaign day for a fantastic candidate,” said Ed Hallam, chairman of Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Future.

“I look forward to another great turnout at our next Star Social on April 7th at The Old Star Pub,” he added.

The team were also treated to bacon sandwiches and a full lunch for their efforts.

“The success of this campaign proves that London Conservative Future is making a real difference in the capital,” commented Peter Smallwood, deputy chairman of campaigns at London Conservative Future.

“We have many more events in the pipeline for the coming months and I look forward to seeing London CF grow from strength to strength,” he concluded.

London Conservative Future: Springing Into Action

Since our official launch party in January, London Conservative Future has held three major campaign days across the capital in Richmond, Tooting and Westminster. The membership has shown outstanding commitment and support in key marginal seats, which are all critical to winning the next election. In terms of youth activism, Conservative Future is the premier organisation for young people interested in getting into politics.

But there is so much more we can do to help candidates across London. In the past three months we’ve attracted numerous new members and volunteers keen to get involved with the party. We’ve delivered thousands of leaflets to prospective voters in London and made a real impact on campaigns.

With the spring season now here, it’s time to ramp up our efforts and take London Conservative Future forward. It gives me great pleasure to announce the second quarter of our campaign for 2009, Springing Into Action.

We will shortly be announcing the next regional campaign day and hope as many of you as possible can attend.

Best wishes

Patrick

London CF @ The Star Social

The majority of the London Conservative Future committee attended last night’s Star Social, organised by Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Future. The guest speaker was Simon Richards from the Freedom Association who criticised the lack of free speech in the UK.

“It was a great turnout with a highly respected speaker,” commented Ed Hallam, chair of CLWCF. “I am pleased that so many young activists chose to come along and join the debate and I look forward to many more events in the coming months,” Hallam added.

“It was great to see that Star Social events are more popular than ever as we lead up to the general election,” said Patrick Sullivan, events coordinator at London Conservative Future.

“Good speakers and a well-known location make the monthly CLWCF events the obvious choice for any activist looking to get involved,” he concluded.

The Freedom Association is a cross party group promoting freedom:

London CF Targets Tooting

The London Conservative Future team travelled to Tooting on Saturday to knock doors and spread the Conservative message in the key target seat.

Meeting high street traders, butchers, grocers and local businessmen, there was an overwhelming desire for change in the constituency.

“I won’t be voting Labour this time,” said one market trader. “This recession is crippling my business and the Government’s high taxes are making it difficult for me to balance the books.”

The campaign day attracted over 30 young activists from across the capital. The event was also attended by several independent film makers keen to interview young Conservative activists.

“It was a strong turnout in a critical target seat,” said Clare Hilley, Chair, London Conservative Future.

“We made a real impact in Tooting and I look forward to us replicating this success in other target seats throughout the year,” she added.

Putney Conservative Future Launch Party

Last night saw the launch of Putney Conservative Future, which attracted over 30 young activists from the local area and wider London. The keynote speaker was local MP Justine Greening who expressed the importance of young people getting involved in politics and making a difference.

“I’m delighted that so many people came to support our launch event, this is a fantastic start for the branch,” said Simon Beresford, Putney CF Chairman.

“This is a great start for us and we have many more exciting events in the pipeline, so watch this space,” he added.

Key topics of discussion included tactics for campaigning, the state of the economy and how to attract young people into politics.

“Last night was a double-whammy from London Conservative Future,” commented Steve George, Director of Communication of London Conservative Future.

"We've successfully launched two branches in one night; one here and the other in Brentford. It’s great to see the network growing and extending to young people,” he concluded.

Two New Branches Launch Tonight

A message from the Chair, Clare Hilley

“I would like to wish the best of luck to the teams due to launch Brentford CF and Putney CF this evening. With a general election around the corner, we need a strong network of activists to help kick Gordon Brown out of Downing Street. I know that both these branches will be a huge success and contribute a lot to the London Conservative Future campaign network.”
